Synonyms Challenge – Vocabulary Game for Teens
What your child learns
- Recognizes synonyms
- Expands academic vocabulary
- Improves word choice in writing
About this game
Synonyms Challenge builds the rich vocabulary that strong reading and writing depend on. Each question shows a word, such as enormous, rapid or fragile, and your teen chooses the word with the closest meaning from three options. The choices are designed to be plausible, so teens need to think about exact meaning rather than guess. A wide vocabulary helps in every subject, from understanding exam questions to writing persuasive essays. After a round, challenge your teen to use two of the new words in a sentence, or to spot them in something they are reading this week, because using a word is the best way to keep it.
