How is typing speed measured?
Every 5 correct characters, including spaces, count as one word. Your words per minute (WPM) is the number of words you type correctly in one minute.
What is a good typing speed for kids?
As a rough guide, younger children often start around 5 to 15 WPM and many teenagers reach 30 or more. Accuracy matters most at first: aim for 90% or better, and speed will follow.
Is the typing test free?
Yes. Anyone can take the 1-minute or 3-minute test without an account. Signed-in children also see their personal best.
